Description
The Honeywell BW Ultra is a pumped portable five-gas detector. Designed specifically for sampling and monitoring confined spaces, before and after entry, the Honeywell BW Ultra has enhanced sensor technology, visibility on gas readings, comfort, and connectivity. This makes it the most reliable and user-friendly way to prevent a safety incident.
The BW Ultra provides the functionality of a standard 4 gas detector (LEL, O2, CO, H2S). This configuration has a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) sensor installed in the 5th sensor position. Often oxygen depletion is used as a surrogate for Carbon Dioxide but this ignores that the Time Weighted Average is set at 5000ppm. This level of CO2 will not trigger an Oxygen alarm. It also ignores sources of carbon dioxide besides respiration. Carbon Dioxide risks can come from a variety of chemical processes, both industrial and biological. It is also used as refrigerant and as Dry Ice during transportation. If CO2 is a risk it must be monitored with a dedicated sensor.
Gases Monitored
- Flammables (catalytic LEL sensor): 0- 100% LEL, 1% LEL resolution
- Oxygen: 0.0% – 25.0% vol, 0.1% vol resolution
- Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S): 0.0ppm -100ppm, 0.1/1ppm resolution
- Carbon Monoxide (CO): 0 – 2000ppm, 1ppm resolution
- Carbon Dioxide (CO2): 0ppm – 50,000ppm, 100ppm resolution
