What we have achieved
TechRentals is reducing its operational carbon footprint by increasing our sustainability program. We have embraced renewable energy and installed solar panels at our Head Office in Melbourne and Sydney branch.
Some Examples of our Sustainability program in Sydney include:
Solar Panel Installation
PV Solar Panels on our roof. The installation consists of 200 of 500 W panels and 4 of 20 kWh inverters. Our aim is to create an average of 350 kWh per day (a possible ~70% – 80% reduction in our greenhouse emissions). There will be data monitoring available so we will be able to check-in on the PV performance.
Energy Efficient Lighting
In early March 2021, we replaced all the site’s light fittings with energy efficient LED lights. Comparing our energy usage between this year and last year we can see a ~24% reduction in electricity consumption and in our greenhouse gas emissions – amazing!
TotalCal Solution
TechRentals launched TotalCal – A Calibration Lifecycle Management System for instruments being calibrated. TotalCal provides amongst other things a fully customer focused portal that reduces the need for paper-based calibration records, repair records, and houses electronically all instrument data and calibration records. TotalCal is the Calibration Lifecycle Management (CLM) of a product as it is used in its serviceable life.
CLM refers to the handling of a product as it moves through the typical stages of its useable life:
Stage 1 - Beginning of Serviceable Life (BOS)
Sales/Documentation/Training/Introduction
At the beginning of the equipment lifecycle, we will assist you throughout the purchase of the equipment and provide you with the relevant documentation, in-depth training, and an introduction to the TotalCal customer portal.
Stage 2 - Midpoint of Serviceable Life (MOS)
Usage/Maintenance/Service
During the life of equipment, the TotalCal database holds details of maintenance schedules, calibration records, and repairs. When calibration is due and dependent on requirements, we can organise our mobile field service to come to you or simply send your instrument to any of our laboratories.
Stage 3 - End of Serviceable Life (EOS)
Re-use/Refurbish/Recycle/Green Footprint Initiative
As your equipment comes to the end of its serviceable life, you’ll have a range of options which include, refurbishing, re-purpose, recycling, and if necessary, disposing it in a safe manner.
We can offer a replacement solution including calibration, training, and on-going support.
