Website Support - Search Tips

 

The Product Search feature is designed to locate products in our vast inventory fast.  Here are some tips to make your searching more reliable:

 
    You have a choice of two product search tools. Fast Search provides a simple single line listing of possible solutions. Google Site Search provides an internet style search ranked by relevance.

    The following tips apply to Fast Search.
  • DO NOT type in words with inverted commas ("") around them.
    Example: "Cable locator" should be: Cable locator
  • DO NOT join search strings with plus symbols (+)
    Example: Cable + locator.

  • Search by keywords. 
    Example:  type in Cable location or type in Cscope and click the Search button.  This will return all of the products that have the words 'Cable location' and 'Cscope' etc.  Avoid using broad terms like Cable as this will return too many results to be helpful.  Instead, if you wanted a Cable locator you could type in Cable locator for a more refined search.

  • Search by Manufacturer. 
    Example:  type in Cscope or type in Anritsu and click the Search button.  This will return all of the products in our inventory supplied by that manufacturer.

  • Search by Product Code. 
    Each product in the TECHRENTALS inventory has a unique product code associated with it.  If you know this code you can search by it.

    Example: type in ANR,C752-05 and click the Search button.  This will return that product.  If you are unsure of the exact Product Code you can also type in partial codes.  
    Example: type in ANR, This will return all the products supplied by Anritsu .
